Kin Design

Kin Design is a design and research studio based in London, who works with clients across a breadth of sectors, including the fashion, museum and electrical industries.

During London Fashion Week’s spring/summer 2015 shows, Kin collaborated with Fyordor Golan and Microsoft Brand Lab to create the concept of a live reactive centre piece for the showcases. The rischegroup was delighted to be approached by Kin to bring the concept to life, creating a bespoke projection screen to display live feeds from different perspectives.

The screen needed to be visible to all audience members, and the final design was a 4m x 4m pyramid suspended from the ceiling in the middle of the runway.

Our expert team at rischegroup custom-made the bespoke four-sided steel framework for the screen, which was suspended from rigging to give the illusion that the structure was floating. We completed the design by fitting the frame with a rischeBARRISOL membrane; rischeBARRISOL was the ideal fabric to use for the screen, as the diverse lightweight PVC material is so versatile it can be stretched into any shape or form.

Installation of the screen was limited to one day, and needed to be completed in time for the scheduled shows. We completed the project well within the time allowed, ready for the arrival of media, photographers and guests at the event.
