When Blonstein produced a fashion show for Savile Row’s Kent & Curwen, they approached rischegroup to create a dramatic backdrop to the London Fashion Week show.
As this was the designer’s debut collection, the backdrop and setting of the show needed to support the collection’s introduction to the London fashion scene. So, as the agency is renowned for its often avant-garde and theatrical productions, a rischeBARRISOL backdrop was the ideal fabric of choice to create a dynamic setting for the Kent & Curwen show, as the lightweight PVC membrane can be stretched into any unique and innovative design.
The backdrop had to fill a 20-metre-long space around the runway, which meant we needed to create a bespoke framework to fit the size and shape required. We completed the installation with a rischeBARRISOL stretch fabric membrane, complete with a flawless high-gloss finish. The fabric also had to photograph well for the vast number of photographers in attendance to capture the collection, without distracting attendees from the designs on the runway.
The challenge for our team was to install the large framework and fabric within just one day, with a tight deadline for completion to ensure the space was ready in time for the scheduled show, which we did successfully.
